Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers play a very important role at North Monroe Medical Center by helping us provide high quality, cost-effective health care by:

  • Providing supplemental services which contribute to patient care and satisfaction.
  • Assisting non-patient care departments with clerical support.
  • Helping to spread the word about the good things happening at North Monroe Medical Center.

The North Monroe Medical Center Auxiliary is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1983 as a volunteer organization. Currently, there are approximately 115 active members. To many, North Monroe Auxiliary members are known as a vital part of the healthcare family as they transport patients to their rooms, deliver flowers and gifts, answer questions from families and friends, staff entrances and information desks and dispense smiles and words of kindness each and every day.

Contributions to Our Local Community:

  • Cerebal Palsy
  • Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon
  • NELA War Veterans Home and Goodfellows
  • Benevolent funds for needy families
  • Salvation Army Christmas Angels
  • ULM Scholarship Fund

A major contribution provided by the Auxiliary is in the form of scholarships. Annual scholarships are given to students studying in allied health fields at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Recipients of the scholarships are selected by a committee at ULM and are awarded based upon need and grade point average.

North Monroe Medical Center and our community are very fortunate to have individuals like those in the Auxiliary.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
Margaret Mead
